Skin healing smoothie

This nutrient-packed smoothie contains a sneaky vegetable that you can't even tell is in there. The inclusion of carrot to this smoothie adds additional skin healing benefits which you will love. Oh and we almost forgot to mention...it's delicious too!

The health benefits:

Carrots are extremely rich in beta carotene, which can help to increase your skin's hydration and protect it from UV sun damage.  Beta carotene is converted to vitamin A in the body which also encourages skin cell turnover.
Papaya is also rich in beta carotene, and especially high in vitamin C which is vital for the formation of collagen in the skin and is necessary for wound healing.

NOTES:
Papaya contains a higher level of amines, so if you do not tolerate amines or are following the FID  (Food Intolerance Diagnosis program from The Eczema Detox), then avoid papaya until you have improved your amine tolerance.
Carrots contain moderate levels of salicylates so this smoothie should be avoided if you are following the FID program.
