Carob Mylk Chocolate

caffeine free dairy free gluten free low salicylate vegan

Carob Mylk Chocolate

Have a skin-friendly Easter with this recipe ... It's nearly Easter so today we made a healthy carob chocolate bar that is low in  salicylates (the chemicals that can irritate eczema), caffeine-free, soy-free, gluten-free and dairy-free ... which is not an easy feat as there are no recipes we could follow that totally met our criteria. So we made our own, using three key ingredients ... Attempt number two was a success, and we now know that you CANNOT mix maple syrup with cocoa butter as it curdles! My son Jack has just tested this chocolate bar (and asked for more), so it has passed the 'fussy child' test with...

If you are on a healthy eating plan and have missed lasagne too, here is a lovely recipe to try this week. This recipe was designed by Katie Layland for our blog. She has used low salicylate ingredients so it's suitable for people following The Eczema Diet program, plus it's good for vegans, vegetarians and people who need to follow a gluten-free diet as this recipe is gluten-free. This lasagna contains healthy skin-loving foods including red cabbage, which supplies skin...

Sweet Potato Toast

recipe

Sweet Potato Toast

I love roasted sweet potato but it's not always convenient to roast it in the oven, as this method takes about 30 minutes or more. So this recipe toasts the sweet potato in the toaster and it takes less than 5 minutes.  It's easy to make, can be sweet or savoury and the best part is, it’s filled with eczema friendly ingredients which are great for nourishing your skin. My favourite is topped with cashew nut butter and caramelized leeks. But the one with carob syrup and banana was amazing too. This is a super easy, grain-free breakfast. Sweet potato is...

Baked Pear Crumble (from The Eczema Detox)

Baked Pear Crumble (from The Eczema Detox)

It's getting cold in Sydney and I love this warm pear crumble recipe for dessert or as a snack. I bake it often, and ensure it's a big batch so it lasts for a few days. This is a healthy version of apple crumble, using eczema-friendly ingredients from The Eczema Diet. I don't like cooking with regular sugar, so this recipes uses real maple syrup because it is low in salicylates (and delicious). Enjoy!   SERVES 6, PREPARATION TIME 10 MINUTES, COOKING TIME 30 MINUTES This Eczema Diet dessert was created for people with eczema and other skin issues, however anyone can enjoy it. See notes....
